Jeff MacArthur – President / Co-Founder
Jeff has worked in over half a dozen countries on projects for the public, private, and NGO sectors. Blending in-depth usability & user experience expertise with a keen strategic sense of how to leverage social media and other technologies to improve business results, Jeff keeps his eye on the big picture without forsaking the details.
His previous work for computer animation pioneer, Mainframe Entertainment, and the world’s largest videogame producer, Electronic Arts, has familiarized Jeff with world class production environments. He also has a robust creative background, including Vancouver Film School, performances at major jazz festivals, and video work such as his quarterly piece on the Sri Lanka tsunami and documenting major trade missions to Russia and beyond.
In addition to his speaking events on usability and social media, Jeff also organizes Halifax’s Third Wednesday tech/media/marketing meetup and is involved with the Digital Nova Scotia industry association and the upcoming TEDx Nova Scotia.

Amber MacArthur – Vice President / Co-Founder
Amber Mac is a technology host, journalist, and strategist. She writes a regular column for
The Globe & Mail. She has worked as a technology TV host with tech guru Leo Laporte on G4TechTV, hosting/producing more than 500 episodes of a popular how- to call in show. She now hosts a live TV show called
Webnation on Toronto’s number one news station.
She has spearheaded two successful podcasts, net@night on the popular San Francisco TWiT.tv network and commandN.tv. She speaks exclusively with The Lavin Agency at keynotes across North America about how to use social media to build community and customer loyalty online. In June 2010, Amber launched her first book about how to use social media to grow your business. Power Friending was published by Portfolio/Penguin in New York and is now a Globe & Mail bestseller.
As the Miami Herald said in their review of the book, “Amber Mac is a virtual Swiss Army Knife of networking: she displays an endless amount of enthusiasm and energy that nearly crackles off the page. Christopher Dick – Director of Production
Christopher Dick is a photojournalist whose 15 years of experience includes all digital media. He has worked for Fortune 500 companies in Singapore as a still photographer. As a photojournalist for Toronto’s top-rated news channel, his assignments have included documenting the water crisis in Native communities in the Arctic, following the lives of a fire brigade in Jamaica, and being embedded with the military during relief operations in the disputed region of Kashmir after the 2005 earthquake. In his capacity as a producer, Chris has worked for
Webnation, which is a current affairs program about internet culture. He has also produced live coverage for multiple provincial and federal elections. Chris has taught journalism to at-risk youth in Florida at the
Palm Beach Photographic Workshops, and is an active member of the National Press Photographers Association and the Committee to Protect Journalists. Currently Chris also teaches Photojournalism and Online News Production in both the undergraduate and post graduate programs at Sheridan College in Oakville, ON

Marc Musial – Creative Director
Marc joined the MGImedia Team in May of 2008, he is a Digital Media Designer/Developer and a graduate of the Digital Media Design program at McKenzie College (2001) in Halifax. Since graduating he’s been working hard on his craft from designing the simplest of business cards to developing large advertising campaigns for companies and organizations, large and small in a wide variety of industries. Donald Devoe – Communications Coordinator
Donald is a business graduate who is active in social media and technology. Donald’s experience includes social media monitoring in an agency setting (using tools such as Radian6), informatics research, and user experience-related tasks (e.g. Morae video/screen capture). He has worked with various content management and database systems, as well as doing a great deal of customer service. Donald is MGImedia’s point person for social media and website stats monitoring, and helps with community management, usability studies, and strategic work. He has a keen interest in photography and handles various MGImedia administrative duties as well.

Catherine Faas – Researcher
Catherine Faas is a researcher, writer, and journalist with ample experience in print and emerging media. As a writer, Catherine has worked for Rogers Television, The Brantford Expositor Daily Newspaper, and most recently – Guy Kawasaki’s RSS aggregator powerhouse,
Alltop.com. She has served as a designer for
W8NC Inc., where she organized spaces for various Ontario colleges and universities within the user-generated virtual community, Second Life. Catherine has also worked as a researcher for
Tsang Media Inc., a marketing business and development firm, where she analyzed, produced, and edited content, while implementing social media branding strategies. Catherine successfully fuses personality and comprehensive content, while tackling a wide variety of subjects within the realm of Web 2.0.
